About weCare Africa:

Founded by Ofonime Inokon-Anusionwu, weCare Initiative for Africa is a US-based non-profit organization which aims to provide strategic educational resources including clean water, sanitary facilities and educational supplies to schools in underserved rural Sub-Saharan African communities to enable children achieve a well-rounded primary and secondary education.

Message from weCare Africa:

We are delighted to present this clean and safe drinking water system to the children of Methodist Group Primary School. This project was initiated with every child from this village and its environs in mind. No longer will you have to travel to the stream and no longer will you have to drink unclean water. Because we understand the power of education, our hope is that you will spend more time focusing on your studies. We encourage you the students, both boys and girls, to stay in school and work very hard so that your future may be bright.

Project Background & Goal

Last year, we identified Methodist Group Primary School as a school lacking basic resources and selected your school for assistance from weCare Africa.

The goal of this project is to provide clean and safe drinking water for the students thereby reducing the spread of waterborne diseases such as dysentery, cholera and typhoid fever. The wash-hand station provided serves to promote handwashing which is the most effective way to stop the spread of many common diseases.

Maintenance and Security:

We call on the students, parents and other citizens of this village to maintain this water system and treat it like your own personal property. Understand that this water system is for your own good and a beacon of hope for the village. And proper care of this water system will attract the opportunity for more projects at the school.

Please do not vandalize any part of the water system. We encourage every member of this community to do their best to maintain the system.

Sponsorship:

This project is strictly sponsored by Alexis Bittar and other individual donors based in New York, United State, who donated out of the goodness of their heart. weCare Africa owes all gratitude to our donors.
